Simply Can’t Explain

I was eating lunch today with my friend Steve and I asked him what exciting things God had done for him so far.

Now, I really like this question, but it could definitely be taken the wrong way. Yeah, everything God does for us should be exciting, and He does a lot for us, so everything should be exciting. I guess what I was getting at was actually putting into words the amazing things God has been doing. Sometimes we take everything for granted: the trees, the sky, ‘random’ events that just make us smile….it’s all God!

So, since I asked him this question, I’ve been thinking about it a lot, too. All day long I’ve just been feeling really…excited! I love music so much, and God put that passion there, and I love God for giving me something that I could love so much that I would literally talk anyone’s ear off if they even mention the word ‘music.’ What I think is really awesome, though, is I’m even more excited to talk someone’s ear off about God and the fact that He gave me something to be this excited about. Even the day was just…a gift! I mean, it was literally a little of every kind of weather. Hot, humid, muggy, sunny, cold, windy, stormy, rainy….yeah, it was crazy! I got caught in a downpour and was just savoring every single step I could take in the rain.

I don’t know, I think it would be really awesome to just think about all the really amazing things God has done for me every single day. Right now, I’m reflecting on the exciting things God did for me today, and it just makes me even more excited to wake up and live life for God again tomorrow!

Okay, now I’m going off. I really can’t put into words how amazing this day has been for me, regardless of the lack of sleep and abundance of work to do before I can go to bed tonight.

For Kristen

I moved in last Friday, classes started Tuesday. I’m taking 9 of them (classes). So far it’s been okay, but I can tell that it’s just going to be really really really good of me to schedule my time wisely. I’m also pretty involved with my church, doing things with the smaller campus groups plus kid’s ministry, and I’m working Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday night. I’m about to send an email to my boss asking him to change my schedule so I don’t have to work Sunday night so I can take a ’sabbath.’ I was going to change the entire thing, but then he hired people and filled in the hours I would have taken instead. So if I need to go home, I’ll have someone cover that shift. I wasn’t planning on going home that often anyway. For concerts, which are usually Friday nights, I’ll just have someone cover those shifts as well. And then either I’ll be working Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday evening for a few hours or I’m just going to cut down my working schedule, which would probably be a better idea.

Now that you know what’s going on….

I’m happy to be back, I’m sad that I don’t get to see my sister’s face (unless I go on Facebook and look at my profile picture).
